About Us:
At National Baby Co, our mission is two-fold. First, we’re all about supporting parents and families through the childbearing years. We love, love, love connecting expecting and new parents with qualified, vetted, professional, and care doulas to support them. Secondly, we pour our hearts into mentoring and guiding doulas and other perinatal professionals in their careers. Our members get all these perks plus vetted client leads in their area.
We are growing like crazy and need all hands on deck to help us expand.
What You'll Be Doing:
As our Community Outreach Specialist, you'll be at the heart of our community engagement efforts. Here’s a glimpse of what your role will entail:
Recruitment:
Via Social Media: Engaging with doulas and birthworkers via Facebook groups and in-person and posts to help us find new members throughout the U.S. Keep track of comments, respond to questions & inquiries, and direct interested parties to apply to join our team.
Virtual & In-Person Events:
Co-hosting Meetings: Hosting our New Member Orientation meetings via Zoom, approximately every 6-8 weeks.
Event Planning: Help us plan, market, and host exciting in-person events in Southern California (Los Angeles, Long Beach, Orange County and surrounding areas). You'll also support planning for events in other areas, without needing to travel.
Member Community Building:
Team Engagement Activities: Post engaging content in our team Facebook group and assist in organizing team events.
Team Encouragement: Send out member birthday cards and encouragement cards.
What We're Offering:
Hours: Start at 15 hours per month with the opportunity to grow.
Commitment: We’re looking for a minimum 4-month commitment to start to ensure you’re well-trained and comfortable in your role. Continuation of the contract will be reviewed at that time.
Pay: Starting rate of $18/hr for remote work and $22/hr for in-person events.
We’re searching for someone who is:
Energetic and Creative: Full of ideas and enthusiasm for community building.
Technologically Savvy: Skilled with social media platforms like Facebook & Instagram as well as familiarity with Canva, Google Workspace, and Squarespace.
Organized, Driven, and Detail-Oriented: Able to juggle multiple tasks and things running smoothly.
Great with People: Excellent at communicating and connecting with others. We’re big on communication over here!
A Self-Starter: We want you to take this role and run with it! We aren’t big on hand-holding, but are always available for questions.
Familiar with Doula Work: While being a doula is not a pre-requisite, it is a bonus! If you aren’t a doula, you should be able to have a conversation about what a doula is and what a doula does.
Must be comfortable with both remote and in-person work and be local to Orange County or Long Beach or willing to drive to these areas every 1-2 months.
